Metairie Flag Dedicated at Veterans Memorial Park

Jefferson Parish Councilwoman Jennifer Van Vrancken and the Jefferson Chamber Young Professionals (JCYP) dedicated the official Metairie flag today at Veterans Memorial Park at Causeway and Veterans. The JCYP flag committee worked closely with Van Vrancken’s office in designing and developing the flag. 

Accoroding to the Jefferson Chamber website: “Both familiar and fresh, the most notable attributes of the flag are its three golden fleurs and coeurs de lis (flowers and hearts of the lily) balanced in a coupling of trinity arrangements, respectively representing tradition, wisdom, prosperity, opportunity, faith, and innovation. The red and blue foundation and aspirational thin, white stripe signify the principles of natural liberty and equal justice guiding a limited, transparent government.” 

Metairie flags can be purchased online from the Jefferson Chamber website at jeffersonchamber.org/metairieflag. The $50 tax-deductible purchase will benefit Metiaire-area JCYP quality of life improvements.
